Initials layer more easily than full names because they take up less horizontal space. Two or three initials on separate chains of different lengths reads as intentional; the same in name pendants reads as crowded.

On 16" the pendant sits at the collarbone as the top layer. On 20" or 22" it drops below a shorter chain and works as the lower piece in a stack. Keep metal tones matched across the stack unless you want the initial to stand out deliberately.
